PRE TEST EVENTS!!
Friday June 13th– BIKE WEEK/RIDE TO SCHOOL DAY!
Ride Downtown All DAY
It does not matter where you live, grab your gang and ride downtown.
Create a café crawl with the final destination being Cleveland Ave around 5:30 pm. Rain or Shine.
Sign up for the events at the parking lot at Cleveland and Winnipeg, grab a gelato and be prepared to take part in or observe the pre Test shenanigans. Listen to the pedal powered dj, partake in bike limbo and try the Pump Track.
Pump Track- Brought to Squamish by Endless Biking of the North Shore. Come downtown to ride the pump track and learn new skills. TOO MUCH FUN! Must sign a waiver and be signed by an adult if you are under 18.
Funny BIKE Races 6pm– Cleveland AVE
Make a group of four, sign up and try your skills in the relay race!
The racers will have to race on foot to get the best bike, then continue to ride that bike back and forth on Cleveland, making this a hilarious race to watch and participate in. The team that wins advances to the semi and then the finals. Prizes for the winner and most sportpersonlike team.
Open to teams of all ages! More details at sign up! Please fill out our on-line waiver so we know who is participating.
Sign up at 5pm-6pm Races start at 6pm. Helmets mandatory.
Bike Poker 7pm– DOWNTOWN
Do you have room for Lady Luck on your bike? Be a part of this years 5 card poker run.
Join the scramble as you roll to various businesses downtown to collect a card and meet up to see whose hand is the best. Helmets mandatory. Time limit enforced.
Sign up at 6 pm. Poker run begins at 7, or shortly after funny races. Great prizes for best hand.
Coolest Bike Contest 8pm– DOWNTOWN
Is your bike ultra cool, esoteric and just a little bit different?
Good! Enter you and your bike in the contest, parade it down Cleveland in front of the respectable judges and you may just win a prize!
All ages welcome….freakiness and weirdness encouraged. Leave your $5000.00 mountain bike at home!
Pre Test CARB LOAD 6-9pm BREW PUB
Get your carb load before the race and meet up with some old friends at the Howe Sound Brew Pub.
The Howe Sound Inn and Brew Pub will be offering a wonderful spread of food to meet your caloric requirements before the race, or hey, even if you are not racing, join in the feast.
The dinner will be served from 6 pm –9 pm, cost $15 plus GST and tip.
Come to the meal and enter your name in a draw for a free Gearjammer 2008 entry. Draw @ 9pm.
BREW PUB BLOWOUT– The official preparty!
Ok! for those of you racing...go home! or stop into the pub for pint, BUT for those who do not have to get up early, you may as well enjoy the talented and high energy band from Nelson BC, Arthur Funkarelli (check em out at arthurfunkarelli/myspace.com) which will be performing at the Brew Pub.
Dj Riddim Fernandez will also be making sure the night is full of great beats to keep you moving.
Stay later and there is a ridiculous amount of prizes to be handed out and a raffle for the Grand prize of Entry to all THREE….Orecrusher, Gearjammer and the TEST Bike races for 2009. Do not miss this event…
