SQUAMISH—Test of Metal Inc. and 2010  women's champion, Catharine Pendrel,  have teamed up to help some of Squamish's up-and-coming mountain bikers in their efforts to get to the Mountain Bike National Championships in Canmore, Alberta on July 17-18.

SQUAMISH, BC – Just Another Mountain Bike Race (JABR), announced today that Pearson Financial Services Ltd. Will be the presenting sponsor.

SQUAMISH—It sounds like a fetishist's fantasy: kilts, spandex, rubber and chains, but there was no kink in this year's Test of Metal weekend.
    Test of Metal, Inc. President and race director Cliff Miller, called it one the most successful weekends ever for the event.
    “This one went off without hitch,” Miller said. “Everything went better than planned, even the one thing we have no control over—the weather—was on our side.”

SQUAMISH—Geoff Kabush demonstrated once again why he is considered Canada's pre-eminent mountain biker by beating a stellar field and setting a new course record in the 15th running of the North Shore Credit Union Test of Metal in Squamish.

Laste year was the Resurrection, this year it's the Resurgence of mountain bike racing, culture and family fun as the North Shore Bikefest returns.

As of June 1, 2010 the Carpenter's Sons Bridge will be out of commission as it will be receiving some much needed structural upgrades.

It’ll be a Test of Metal like no other this year as hundreds of pipe band players blend with hundreds of racers to create a uniquely Squamish event.

Dust off those winter thighs and get ready for another round of bike races and epic summer riding.  Registration opens March 6, 2010, for the Orecrusher XC - a classic multi-lap mountain bike race through the Cheekeye Fan trails in Brackendale, BC.

SQUAMISH—They were online in Saskatchewan and Quebec, in Switzerland and Hong Kong, and in Colorado and Oregon; but wherever they were located, they were on-line quickly to sell out the 800 spaces available for 15th annual Test of Metal mountain bike race in under 25 minutes.

SQUAMISH – The race is on. With registration for Canada's most successful mountain bike race only two weeks away, riders eager to to claim one of the 800 spots are busy developing strategies to ensure that they're one of the lucky ones.

SQUAMISH – By Test of Metal standards, the pace was almost  leisurely. The locals-only registration period, which is open to residents living from from Furry Creek to Darcy, closed at 8:59 pm when all 200 reserved spaces were filled, almost three hours after opening.

Dear 2009 Test of Metal racer: This is a reminder that on Tuesday December 1st at 6 pm registration for the North Shore Credit Unions presentation of the 15th Annual Test of Metal MMX opens for locals only at www.testofmetal.com. A local is defined as someone who lives between Furry Creek and Darcy, BC.

SQUAMISH—Test of Metal group of events is pleased to announce the addition of two new races - a downhill and a cross-country event - to the Squamish mountain bike race calendar.

Squamish, B.C. – Organizers of the Test of Metal group of races in Squamish have announced that they are offering free entry into any one of their events in 2010 to racers of this year's Intermontane Challenge in Kamloops.

SQUAMISH—Richard MacKellar of the “Protect the Test Initiative” announced the final winners of the contest last week.

Not the storm clouds, the threat of cougars, or even a new gaudy outfit worn by Test of Metal race director Cliff Miller could frighten away the crowds from another enormously successful Test of Metal weekend.

Unfortunately this year we encountered problems with the timing. We estimate a window of finish times from approximately 3:22 to 3:59 where the times recorded do not correspond to the racer's actual time. The finish placings in this window are correct, just not the time.

Near perfect conditions lead to a spectacularly fast North Shore Credit Union Test of Metal and new course record.

Things are going to look very familiar at this year's North Shore Credit Union Test of Metal.

The Mashiter Bridge, found on the Mashiter trail connecting Ray's Cafe with the road just above Roller Coaster, has been rebuilt.

Another full weekend of fat-tire fun is assured for this year's North Shore Credit Union Test of Metal weekend on June 19th to 21st.

SQUAMISH—Difficulties with the registration process didn't deter entrants from around the world from registering for the 2009 North Shore Credit Union Test of Metal.

This year's race will have competitors from throughout Canada and the US, the UK, and the even the Caribbean challenging themselves over the gruelling 67 kilometre course.

The Test of Metal has generously guaranteed 50 spots for Team Diabetes in the 2009 race and over half are already filled! If you are a resident of BC and at least 18 years of age, you can take advantage of this exciting opportunity and ride this epic course in support of the Canadian Diabetes Association, and someone you know living with diabetes.

SQUAMISH—Cliff Miller, Test of Metal race director, announced the creation of the TOM Youth National Dream Fund to support young Squamish mountain bikers participating in the Canadian National Championships.
