2010 Hell of a Series  presented by Nester’s Market

Showcasing the best “beat you up & spit ya out” races in the sweet single track Corridor Region.

Ore Crusher, Squamish : May 15

North Shore Festival, North Vancouver : June 5

NSCU Test of Metal, Squamish : June 19

GearJammer, Squamish : July 24

Just Another Bike Race, Squamish : Aug 21 The Final.

How to become a Contender:

You first must fit in one of the following Series age categories and then complete 3 of 5 races listed above in which one must be the Finals on Aug 21st.

14-20, 20-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70+, Pro/Elite

But if you hold a 2010 Pro/Elite license, your Series is the best 4 of 5 as entry into the Test is still possible.

Points & Awards:

There are 3 ways to gain recognition for surviving this series:

1. Win your category!  Points for the Series will be awarded by a scale which will be posted here (check back soon). So if you complete 4 of the 5 races, the worst result will be thrown out (any ties will be determined by placement in the Final). Remember, Finals are mandatory so you must at least start the Aug 21st race to be eligible.

Category Series Leaders:  brining us back to the early 90’s and the heyday of our sport … series leaders will not dawn with the yellow jersey but rather the Mojo of all Mojos.  And yes leaders, you must display it proudly or no racing for you!

2. Start and finish all 5 races (okay 4 if you didn’t get into the Test and you aren’t pro/elite…)   Because we know this isn’t any cake walk, any racer completing all 5 races will be awarded with the coveted Hell of a Series belt buckle on Aug 21st.

3. Become King or Queen.  It takes much more than winning to be eligible for this royal honour;  the following requirements will be scrutinized by the panel:
- all 5 events are at least started (preferably finished as well!)
- no ghost podium appearances ie. if you earned it, you must be present to stand proud
- pre-register for the events ; none of this day of stuff
- be nice to the volunteers as they get a say…
- good sportsmanship trumps performance
- and lastly, your best Series race story must be submitted by June 30th and will be open to the voting public!

So… what do you need to be part of this retro Series…  nothing special but if you purchase your Citizen or UCI licence through Cycling BC before the 1st race opens their registration, you will save up to $25 on Series race fees plus no more $10 one-event fees on BC Cups and other sanctioned events!
