Steve White

Test of Metal

Rider Profile

Name: Steven White

Where are you from?
Squamish, BC

Why are you doing the test?
I wanted to take the opportunity to ride in memory of a former colleague of mine at Quest University Canada who was also an integral part of the Test of Metal team organizing shuttles for volunteers and screaming crowds alike. Glenn Ashenden (photo right) was a dedicated, energetic, smiling and passionate guy who was always keen to help out anywhere he could and always there to cheer everyone on in whatever they did. Glenn passed at all too young an age just before Christmas 2010.

Have you done the Test before?

Not unless nightmares count.

What did you learn from your last Test experience?
From what I've been told, mud is to be ridden through, not ingested.

What are you looking forward to the most?
The crowds, the competition, and crossing the line at the end.

What are you dreading the most?
Mechanicals, both bike and body.

What kind of frame do you ride on?

Stock '08 Remedy 7

Do you have an inspiring rider?
Glenn Ashenden takes this category in spades!

How are you preparing for the Test?
Bit of riding, bit of Hockey Night in Canada, repeat.

How will you celebrate afterwards?

Given how tired I anticipate being, I'd have to quess quietly.
