The Orecrusher XC is a multi-lap classic cross-country mountain bike race through the Cheekeye Fan single-track trails of Brackendale. The Orecrusher is the first race of the year and a great warm up for the mountain bike race season.

Race Details

The OreCrusher XC is a multi-lap classic XC through the Cheekeye Fan single-track trails of Brackendale, BC. This is a great race to start your season whatever level rider you may be. Very ‘pedaly’ mostly flat and false flat rolling terrain. All the trails being green and blue.

Race starts at Republic Bicycles, runs up Government Road, and then hits the trails just past Don Ross High School. After that it loops  around the Cheekye Fan trails, with the marketplace and finish line on the field at Don Ross. Plenty of parking in the lots at Don Ross and neighbouring Brackendale Elementary.

Attention racers!  There will be no be parking at Republic Bicycles parking lot.  All parking will be at either Brackendale Elementary School parking lot, or Don Ross School parking lot.  Just continue up Government Road about 1.5 km and the schools are on your right hand side.  Be sure and give yourself adequate time to cycle back to race start area (Republic Bicycles parking lot).  Thank you for your cooperation.  Have a fun day out there!


Check-in will only be on the day of the event. All participants must check in and get their race plate. You will then be directed to position your bike in the designated area.


Saturday morning check-in opens 8:00 AM and closes 10:00 AM SHARP. No exceptions, be there before 10 or you don’t race. Photo ID will be required at Check-in.
